How To Root Lava P7 (Marshmallow)+Install TWRP Recovery

Lava P7 is one of the budget friendly smartphones out there. It's easy to Root Lava P7 lollipop version by using KingRoot but Rooting Marshmallow version is quite painful as because there is no application out there which can root P7 including KingRoot and there is also no custom recovery and custom ROM for Lava P7 that's why we decided to create a custom recovery so you can easily flash SuperSu binary file.

NOTE: We are specifically telling you about one device but this method works on any android but makes sure to download files according to your smartphone.

Why Do I Need To Root?

Gaining root access on Android is like to run Windows as an administrator. You have full access to the system directory and can make changes to the way the OS operates. As part of rooting, you install usage manager (SuperSU is the main one right now). These tools are basically the gatekeeper of root access on your phone. When an app requests root, you have to approve it using the root manager.
So what can you do with root specifically? Let’s say there’s a system app that you really don’t like seeing, but it can’t be disabled through the standard method. With root, you can run an app like Titanium Backup to delete or permanently hide the app. Titanium can also be used to manually back up all the data for an app or game so you can restore it to another phone. Want to change the way your device’s CPU behaves or alter the system UI? Those also require root. Ad-blocking software on Android needs root access as well (it modifies the Android host's file to block known ad servers).

Things You Need To Root Lava P7 (MarshMallow):

• A Computer Running On Any Windows
• SP Flash Tool
• TWRP Recovery
• Micro USB Cable
• And Off course Your Phone

NOTE: After Rooting your device warranty will be voided but after unrooting your warranty will not be voided

Steps To Flash A Custom Recovery:

Any type of Custom recovery is needed to root Lava P7 that's why we are flashing TWRP recovery first. If you are using any different device then make sure to try these steps first if they fail then come to this.

Step One: Enable USB Debugging

Next, you’ll need to enable a few options on your phone. Open your phone’s app drawer, tap the Settings icon, and select “About Phone”. Scroll all the way down and tap the “Build Number” item seven times. You should get a message saying you are now a developer.
Head back to the main Settings page, and you should see a new option near the bottom called “Developer Options”. Open that, and enable “USB Debugging”. Enter your password or PIN when prompted, if applicable.

Once that’s done, connect your phone to your computer. You should see a popup entitled “Allow USB Debugging?” on your phone. Check the “Always allow from this computer” box and tap OK.

Step Two: Download TWRP for Your Phone

Download TWRP recovery from here and for lava P7 users here after downloading it unzip the file and you will see two files recovery.img and scatter file now proceed to step 3.

Step Three: Install SP Flash Toolspicocurl.com/1qbf

You'll need SP Flash Tool to flash your recovery you can install SP Flash Tool From the zip you download in step two then install it and run it as administrator.

Step Four: Load Scatter File

Now click on Scatter-loading in SP Flash Tool and browse to scatter file which was in recovery.zip and hit ok.

Step Five: Flash Custom Recovery

Now only check on recovery option and follow these steps below:

1. Remove the battery of your lava P7 and connect it to your computer.
2. Hold down volume down key and hit download in SP Flash Tool.
3. When Process Succeed boot your phone to recovery mode by holding volume up and power button simultaneously and you will see your new recovery.

Step Six: Root Your Lava P7

You have successfully flashed your custom recovery on your lava P7 Now you can easily get root on your device.
Step 1: Download and transfer the SuperSU zip file from the download link here to your device’s storage.

Step 2: Boot your device into TWRP recovery.

Step 3: Tap on Install and select the SuperSU zip file that you transferred to your device in Step 1.




Step 4: After selecting the .zip file, do Swipe to Confirm Flash on the bottom of the screen to begin the flashing process.



Step 5: It should only take a moment to flash the SuperSU package.  When it finishes, tap the “Wipe cache/Dalvik” button that appears and swipe to confirm.



Step 6: Once SuperSU is flashed, you’ll get Reboot System option, select it.



Step 7: Congratulations! Your device should be rooted now. Look for the SuperSU app in app drawer.
